French door blinds

So what exactly is a French door? Well the definition in general is one with a glass panel transparent or translucent with a frame around it. Nowadays it is becoming a trend to have a series of French doors adjacent to one another. This poses a problem when it comes to window well in this case door treatment.

You can use French door blinds to cover them. You can either choose vertical blinds or venetian blinds to do the job. It is really up to you depending on the kind of style that you want. Just remember to just use one blinds per panel otherwise it will obstruct the door when the blinds are lowered. Personally I prefer the venetian or horizontal blinds for French door as they look better than the vertical ones.

Please remember to use inside mount French door blinds so that there won’t be any obstruction similar to the reason above. Other options for your French doors are roman shades as it provides the drapery look and you can easily install them yourself. You might also want to consider using wooden blinds such as basswood as they look really classy and elegant on your French door.

Plantation shutters are the other option that you can consider to cover your French doors. They come with hidden tilt rods or showing ones. The popular shutters are the wooden ones although the synthetic faux wood ones are becoming the trend nowadays due to its lower cost and durability.

Finally you can also go for curtains as well for the softer and traditional look. You can use a single rod for all your French doors if they are adjacent to one another. However you need to use separate curtains for each panel for obvious reasons.
